The 1.0 and 1.5 EcoBoost is a brilliant little engine until the wet belt starts shedding rubber into the sump. We've replaced these belts on hundreds of Fiestas, Focuses, B-Maxes, EcoSports and Pumas across Canterbury, Faversham and the surrounding Kent villages. Catch it early and you walk away with a perfect engine for a four-figure belt job rather than a four-figure rebuild. Leave it and you're looking at a four-figure rebuild.

How we replace it, step by step
- 1Bring the car in cold so we can scope the timing cover and oil pressure properly
- 2Strip the front cover, inspect belt and pump pickup, photograph everything
- 3Fit a new INA or Ford-spec belt, tensioner, idler and oil pump pickup pipe
- 4Drop the sump if there's heavy belt debris and clear it before refill
- 5Fresh Ford-spec 5W-20 oil and OE filter, road test, scan, hand keys back
Fiesta, Focus and B-Max 1.0 EcoBoost jobs are £1,050 plus VAT without a water pump, or £1,250 plus VAT with the water pump replaced. 1.5 EcoBoost engines are quoted in the same bracket. The water pump is optional on every job. Every price includes a full sump clean — never an optional extra.

How long does the job take on my driveway?+
EcoBoost engines are the most labour-intensive wet belt we do. Most are finished in one full working day, but on some cars it runs into a second day — we never rush it. We only take on one job at a time, so your car gets our full attention from start to finish.
Do you supply genuine Ford parts?+
We use INA or Ford-spec OE-equivalent timing kits — same supplier the dealer uses. Genuine Ford parts available on request, slight cost uplift.
What about the oil pump pickup?+
Always replaced as part of the job on EcoBoost engines. The pickup mesh traps belt debris and is the single biggest cause of follow-up failures if it's left in.
